The debut of "Floor Coverings", a performance piece instructing performers to "Cover the floor of a room in blue painter's tape."
September 10, 2009 | 6:30PM - 8:30PM
111 Front St., #210, Brooklyn, NY
FREE
Performers from the group FLUXCONCERT will debut "Floor Coverings" written by FLUXCONCERT founder Perry Garvin in 2009. The new work instructs performers: "Cover the floor of a room in blue painter's tape."
Over the course of the two hours, the three FLUXCONCERT performers produce the piece by following the instructions and covering the floor of the gallery in which they are performing in blue painter's tape. The performance will end when the floor is covered or when the time has elapsed - whichever comes first.
FLUXCONCERT 20090910 is performed by Ryan Anthony Donaldson, Perry Garvin and Ben Kerrick. Organized by Perry Garvin. Special thanks to Zannah Mass.
FLUXCONCERT 20090910 is part of "First Thursday," the monthly DUMBO gallery walk. Brooklyn's artsy, waterfront neighborhood keeps its doors open late for an evening of galleries, performances, screenings, curatorial discussions and artists talks. Drink specials are offered as well. Email culture411@twotrees-dumbo.com for more info, follow it on Twitter &/or become a Fan on Facebook (DumboCulture411). Sponsored by Two Trees.
